PR SD Reunion Dinner

In 1996, 10 Latin American women at RPI founded my sorority, La Sociedad de Damas, Sigma Delta Sorority, Inc.  Since then the organization has grown, almost disappeared, and grown again.  One of the major perks for having this spring break in Puerto Rico was we were to get together with some of our alumnae who returned to PR after university. I'm always excited to spend time with people who survived RPI, and was hoping to meet some ladies I hadn't meet before.  Organizing these events is always more difficult than you think it's going to be so we had about half as many alumni come out with us as I had hoped but there will be other times.  We all met up at a local place call Mango's for dinner and cocktails.  We had a range sisters from one of our Founding Mothers to two of our most recently inducted sisters.  Almost 16 years difference and still encountering the same kinds of experiences.  I hope someday we can get even more of the group together.

Places I Would Rather be on Monday Morning: Spring Break 2012!

Okay so this one is cheating.  I'm on my way to San Juan, Puerto Rico with a handful of my sorority sisters.  This is trip is going to be a few firsts for me.  This is the first time I've traveled a group this big where it's been up to us to organize everything.  This is the first time I'm flying into another country and am not going to get my passport stamped. And this is the first time I haven't just driven to a flight leaving the USA.  But more on that later.
Bon Vonage!
